Neighbourhood Plan Meetings

Neighbourhood Plan Updates:

January 2026

The NP consultation stage has now concluded and that work had commenced upon the drafting of the

plan. The first iteration of the NP will be shared with steering group members shortly with responses due back in early January. 

Once the SG decide that the plan is ‘fit for purpose’, it will be sent to the planning consultant for refinement as well as DNPA and SHDC for comment. 

Once feedback has been received from the persons/organisations confirming the plan’s acceptability, we then move to Phase 2 where the plan will be on public display for 6 weeks. Locations will include the Moorland Hotel as well as the halls at both Shaugh Prior and Lee Moor. 

Events will take place both during the daytime and evenings. Hard copies of the plan will also be made available. 

After this 6-week consultation period, a final version of the plan will go back to SHDC and a referendum will take place (which will be run by SHDC).

Local Business/Commercial Community - 

Meeting Wed 15th Oct at Moorland Hotel @ 11:00-12:00

A Meeting is to share views and contribute to the future direction of the parish is being sought by the Neighbourhood Plan Group.

The session will cover the following themes, but other topics can be raised:
•    Employment and Economy
•    Buildings and Land
•    Transport and Infrastructure
•    The Wider Area and Community

Local Commercial input is invaluable in ensuring the Neighbourhood Plan reflects the needs and opportunities of local businesses and the wider community.

Public Meeting about HOUSING - your voice matters

Wednesday 20th August - 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Following on from the 6 consultation events held in June across the Parish, we are holding a Public Meeting to discuss HOUSING.

You will hear what suggestions have been put forward and this is an opportunity for you to tell us how you would like to see housing in the parish develop over the next decade.
